Did you know: If all the cigarettes smoked worldwide over the course of a year were laid end to end, they would come close enough to the sun to start the end cigarette smoldering.

    These are not accurate statements.
1.) Global deforestation has not been measured since the 90's so no one has a realistic number for it.

2.) Cannibalism is not a common trait in spiders. Yes, there are some that do eat their mate but it is more uncommon then common.

3.) This is another one that is often said but not true. Some bees will lose their stinger after they sting someone but most bees have the ability to sting multiple times in a row.

Did You Know why Boxing Day is called Boxing Day? We celebrate it here in Canada, along with a few other countries. It's always been December 26th.

I'm a bit late in posting this, but I was sick. So sorry. Not timely. But interesting!

Did you know that more Revolutionary War battles and skirmishes were fought in South Carolina than in any other state during the War of Independence?

(We're going to the re-enactment of the battle of Cowpens in a couple weeks and I was doing background home school info on it and came across that fact. The battle of Cowpens in SC was a major turning point in the war that lead to Cornwallis' defeat later in Virginia)

And another one: Did you know that the red coats the British wore and the bight blue coats the Americans wore were actually for "anti-camoflage". During a battle with muskets, the gunsmoke got so thick, they could not see who they were shooting at, so as not to shoot their fellow soldiers, the bright colored coats helped. (the British wore red long before that, but one of the reasons they continued was because of the smoke factor). I am doing Revolutionary war research for home schooling, so bear with me. I promise not to bore you anymore.
