I have an "Inspiration" wall next to my bed, which is cozied into an alcove just big enough for a Queen bedframe to nuzzle into.
Taped to it are all manner of quotes that I've come across on cards and magazine clippings, that help me when I begin to wobble inwardly and need extra strength.
What words of Wisdom do YOU live by? Did a parent, friend or child say something that changed your life? Or did you find a card that gives you strength when you needed it?
Words are so powerful. They can lift of destroy. I chose to support the ones that lift you to becoming a higher being.
Here's one that I keep taped up by my computer and read it whenever I get discouraged by the crappy people I sometimes encounter, and I wonder why THEY can be scoundles and I can't...well, I could but I know better.
"Life's easy to life
for someone unscrupulous,
cunning as a crow,
forward, & brash.
But for someone who's constantly
pure in his livelihood,
clean in his pursuits,
~Dhammapada, 18, translated by Thanissareo Bhikkhu
I love the no-nonsense ending: "...it's hard."
