    My 12 yr old son has been wanting to set up a myspace account but I have been really hesitant and have told him "no". I've seen on both local and national news lately about how kids post so much info on their myspace accounts and its just a hiding place for predators to try and lure kids...I've visited some myspace accounts and while they are interesting and eye-catching, I just don't feel right letting him set up an account. Needless to say, I have had a very unhappy 12 year old........

    I've seen stories about that recently, too. A friend found out her 13 yr old had an account. Friday, we checked it out. Luckily she hadn't posted anything personal but her first name. My friend still deleted the account and told her no, she could not go to that site. Some of the stuff the news found on the various pages were shocking. One of the ladies did a search in her area for a female under 18 and got 84 hits. It is like a pedophiles playground.

    I wouldn't let my children have it either. It can be really dangerous. Lots of coocoos out there. I enjoy it because I like talking with different people about similar interests and try not to give out too much personal info.

    I have a myspace account (same name there as here), but I use it to stay in touch with people I already know IRL. I don't use it for anything else.

    I didnt know about myspace, but I get confused if I have too many login names and passwords. Who am I where today? Too hard. I like to hang out HERE too!
