    Rebates

Does anyone else besides me take advantage of rebates?

    On officemax.com I just ordered 100 CDr's for FREE. They're $25 with $25 worth of rebates. lol. I also bought a faster 48x CD-burner. Its regular $89.99 with $80 worth of rebates.

There was free shipping, so I didn't have to pay for that.

Please tell me someone else takes advantage of rebates?!

I find myself usually buying something that has a rebate, and then never sending it in.

    So I don't save anything...

haha. I hate that they take 6-8 weeks to return after you send them in.

I usually do if the rebate is worth it, I'm not going to send for it if it's only 2 or 3 dollars.

Like John I sometimes forget to send it in. If the rebate is a biggie (like the ones you mentioned) I'd remember though

I LOVE it when something I already need has a great rebate and/or sale price.

I hate rebates. Why don't they just give us the discount instantly at the store, and then the store can collect the rebate from the manufacturer or whatever?

If an item that I bought has a great rebate (more than $20), then I'll collect on the rebates. They are such a pain, though.

I don't think I have ever used one. I probably have several laying around in a drawer somewhere in the house. I just never get around to using them.

Out of the 11 rebates I sent in in a timely manner following the instructions to a T, only one has come back for 20 bucks. Good luck! No more rebates for me.

Same thing happened to me. I sent in 2 rebates for a cd rewriteable drive and only got 1 back! We bought it in the sales as it was a good price (after rebates) so obviously now it's not a good price.
