| Re: How Are Your Neighbors? Heh. When our new neighbors moved in, they got a double outdoor free-standing glider swing and aimed it right at my backyard. They have this huge yard so I was scratching my head. I'm not dilligent about mowing so eventually they pointed it in another direction, but what were they thinking? On the other side, their house was taken back by the bank and I nobody lives there now. This last snow/ice storm knocked THEIR fence over into my yard. I love the privacy of that fence, but don't know which bank to contact.

Anyway, you can find out the bank and contact them.

| Re: How Are Your Neighbors? Thanks! I hope if the bank does own it and I contact them, they don't just tear down the whole fence. I'm tempted to wait until spring and just shoulder it up and prop it somehow. Like I said, I like the privacy it provides. I will do a little investigating online.

| Re: How Are Your Neighbors? Ok, so... I just got home from work and I finally noticed that the neigbor behind me has an almost life size horse sculpture in her back yard, against the fence.

| Re: How Are Your Neighbors? I have to vent. I'm trying to work from home and my neighbor has been in his kitchen slamming drawers and cupboards all day. I feel him walking around and he is only 5' 3" and maybe 125lbs! If I go to my room for quiet I feel him walking around. He moves furniture all day long and arghh! There, I feel a little better.

| Re: How Are Your Neighbors? So funny I just saw this thread! I live across another apartment building and I look over to the neighbor's window across from me (a couple lives there..they don't have shades and neither do I) and he is watching a porno. It caught my eye because there is a lot of movement....

| Re: How Are Your Neighbors? I have great neighbors. At least on our block. Lots of kids my son's age. Several stay-at-home or work-at-home moms. Nice people who will watch out for you, bring over meals for a couple of weeks if someone in your family dies, be impromptu baby sitters ... etc etc etc. One of my favorite moms just moved, unfortunately, and she was big at bringing people together. (She also was a good friend, had 2 boys to play with mine, was a former professional chef and her husband belonged to two wine clubs at the time. Sigh) We do have a thing all the parents at home do in really nice weather (esp the summer). All the kids go outside to play (usually around 3 or 4) and the moms (and sometimes dads) will all go with them, wine glass in hand. We've had a few impromptu dinner parties that way. The only noisy neighbor is on the street behind us. And he doesn't have his kids all the time. But when they are home and the weather is good, they like to blare the radio. And point fireworks at the house almost behind them because the person who lived there complained once. |

| Re: How Are Your Neighbors? We call our next door neighbor "Wilson" - like the neighbor on Home Improvement. His house is about 12 feet from ours and separated by a fence, but he has lived there for almost three years and all we've seen is the top of his head (wearing a hat) over the fence. Our neighbors on the other side are very nice, but they aren't home often and we don't really socialize. An older couple live across the street from us and they are wonderful. They collect our mail and newspapers for us when we are out of town and we do the same for them. The husband has also helped my husband out of many home improvement disasters - like the time he cut an extension cord with his electric hedge trimmers and blew up all of the outside lights and electrical sockets. ![]()
