The problem is that since I love my "new" ring so much and it partly came from him (the stones from the bracelet) he doesn't think he needs to get me another one.Originally Posted by roseskid

Wouldn't it be so cute if someone proposed on FORT?
I think it would be cute for all of us to see, but it might feel kind of chintzy to the girl that gets the question popped in a Survivor thread or something.Originally Posted by GlitterxGold
You never know, though. That might be some girl's dream proposal.

LOL well, Survivor wouldn't be as bad as say, "The Biggest Loser" or My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance"?![]()
(no offense to any die hard fans of these shows)

3 years after we met on a blind date, mr.applesauce and I started to "discuss" getting married. Unfortunately, whenever we went to look at rings, he would have a panic attack and leave the shop. We did find a setting we loved...but when we realized the price didn't include the diamondwe stopped looking at it. On a trip to his hometown in the spring, he took me to the jewelry store owned by the father of a college classmate who happened to be "the" jeweler in town. We went in and he laid out several diamonds. Each diamond had its own story which made it very interesting. I selected my favorite diamond which was one of the smaller ones, a brilliant cut stone that was originally set in an engagement ring in the late 1800's. mr.apple then asked me to leave while he took care of business. At the end of our trip that week, we made the 8 hour trek home. We drove over the Siskeyous and just after the pass, we pulled off at a small scenic spot. He pulled me out of the car, put me up on top of the lookout area and proposed. Of course I said yes. The ring arrived several weeks later from Germany and was the platinum setting we had admired so much with the beautiful diamond from the shop. We were married 4 short months later. We will have our 10 year anniversary next year. The best part is that every trip to and from Oregon, we pass the spot where we became engaged and say to the kids..."do you know what happended there....". Of course my oldest just rolls his eyes and says yeah, that's where you became married people.
