sounds like a new song... someone's in the kitchen with Cali, someone's in the kitchen with Cali!!!!!

i love baking too...but don't really like to eat cakes and cookies..
each time one loves is the only time one ever love...differences of object merely intensify the passion

Joeguy - here's a quick and easy cake recipe that will have them crying with joy! It's yummy and fudgy and feeds lots of people. Only takes 25 minutes. ( I have a similar non-chocolate recipe if you want it).

    Texas Funeral Cake (Yee Hah!)

    Get a pan 11"Long x 16"wide x1"deep
    Grease and flour it

In saucepan melt: 1 stick butter, 1/4 c cocoa powder (unsweetened), 1/2 c vegetable oil, 1 c water

In mixing bowl mix: 2 c flour, 2 c sugar, 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Add chocolate mixture, 2 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 c buttermilk (or before you start mix 1/2 c milk and 1 Tbl. vinegar for sour milk).

Pour into pan evenly and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

    Frosting:

In saucepan bring to a boil: 1 stick butter, 1/2 c milk, 1/3 c cocoa powder. Pour into mixer bowl and add 1 # powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 c chopped nuts (optional). Spread on cake about 5 minutes after you take it out of the oven. Eat and be happy.

Joeguy, If you want fuss free and relatively simple, i think the best bet would be to go Naked Chef Jamie Oliver. He's great for nice and easy to make desserts.

    Molly Rose, that sounds delicious!
