    Where is this?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" -- Steve Parker

If you go up to http://www.cmdl.noaa.gov/obop/spo/, you'll see it's a page about the South Pole Observatory. So it is in Antarctica.

Congrats... was hoping the snow would look like sand and take a while to guess

Amna got it right off the bat.

I have to admit Ili, that I had read the other posts before looking at the picture but I believe I too would have guessed it right off. The tipper for me is that dome structure. That is always what I see in pictures of research stations at the South Pole.
    Beautiful and brutal at once.
    Watch out, It's a stampede!
