Geek, congrats on the twins! What an adventure lies ahead for you. I hope you are feeling well!
I'm a little late with the best wishes, but a great big congratulations, Geek! Get your rest now, because I doubt you'll be getting any after the kids are here!
Twins Geek!! Yippee!! Double the love and fun! I cannot wait to see pictures!
Yup, with donuts!!
TWINS?? Good lord, woman! Pace yourself!
My mother's biggest disappointment in life was that I wasn't twins

Congrats Geek. I had a very good friend that had identical twins and she refused to dress them alike until both girls got to be about 3 or 4 and then the "I like her dress better" stuff started happening and from that point on, she bought 2 of the same outfit so there could be no more arguing.
She said: "I had NO idea it would be such a big deal to them." (she had had a boy first and boys never really care about their clothes)

No, boys don't care that much about their clothes. But I can already see that my boys (4 and 1) fight over that ONE toy. So when the baby will be a little older, I'll have to do like a friend of mine and get them identical toys, so there will be no fighting.Originally Posted by myrosiedog;3244136;
My son owns 3 pairs of pants and maybe 5 t-shirts. He does laundry twice a week sometimes. I keep trying to buy him more clothes but he doesn't want them.

I think I'll be just like your friend in the respect that I will try my damndest to treat my babies as two unique individuals and not play the "twin card" too much. Sure, identical twins in identical clothing is unbelievably cute, but I want them to develop their own personalities and feel secure both in themselves and in their identity as twins. Granted, wild horses couldn't stop me from dressing them up in identical red outfits on their first Christmas. My excuse? They'll be too small to remember anything, anyhoo.
We don't know the sex of our wee ones yet, but we will find out soon. I think it's two girls I'm carrying whereas Mr Geek suspects baby boys. At least one of us will be right!
Oh, and a little update on the "how do you know they're identical twins?" question: apparently, my babies are supposedly monozygotic twins, identical twins with a thin membrane between them. Or, in medispeak: "Twins resulting from one zygote that at an early stage of development separated into independently growing cell aggregations giving rise to two individuals of the same sex and identical genetic constitution." The reason why the ultrasound specialists were so sure is due to the fact the membrane is only made up of one thin, almost transparent layer. In case of fraternal twins, the wall consists of at least two thicker layers, whereas monoamniotic twins share the same amnotic sac and therefore have no membrane separating them. The good news is that the babies have two separate placentas, which hopefully means that they will get all the nutrition they need. I'll ask a ton of questions next week, when I'm scheduled for my next ultrasound!

Woohoo! Geek! That's wonderful news!
My mother dressed us in the same (gross 1970's) outfits in different colors, but we are not twins. My sister is 3 years older than me!!!!!! She was very small and I was very big, so she "had fun with it"... Gah!
Well, I'm almost sure I'm expecting my first. One test came out probably yes, the other came out definitely yes. My doctor appointment is at an ungodly hour Friday morning. I have SOOOO many questions!
Came in because I did a little poking around on the net because I have an extremely annoying cold. I could deal with the sneezing and all, but the choking/gasping I usually take something for so I can sleep. Well, according to Web MD and the like, there's really nothing I can do besides sleep with a humidifier, get lots of rest, eat honey lozenges, etc.
Anyone have other tips?
