haha. I just now understood the aohell. I am a little slow. I have mozilla too, but I still get popups sometimes. I actually just got it. Before, when I just had internet explorer, it was horrible!

Spam, pop-ups and what bothers me the most is... AOL speak. When did it become cool to sound like an idiot?

sweetdreams... I, too, detest abbreviations. I hate it when people type in "ur" instead of "your," "2" instead of "to" or "two," etc..... My 9 year old niece has just found the art of IMing and is using all of the abbreviations and it's all I can do to not scream at her at times.

Sorry you have to endure that with your niece.. what we'll do for family...
It just drives me nuts. We all went to school, we were taught to speak properly... yet look whats happening. While I don't like to see anybody typing in abbreviations (examples as you've mentioned above) what is worse is when adults use the appreviations.

I remember when I first starting chatting on the net and somebody typed A/S/L. Talk about a brain strain. Does it really take that much more time to type out the entire question? :rolleyes

Even though the search engines work better now than before, I still despise having to see links to porn/inappropriate/disgusting sites when all I wanted to find was basic information on supposedly benign subjects.

I also hate finding an interesting link title, and then when I get to the website, I am bombarded with unnecessary and obnoxious foul language.

I'm no prude, but it can even get embarrassing to check some of the daily news sites like CNN, MSN, and others in public. Often, there is at least one ad with someone in a scantily clad pose on the opening page.

I also get annoyed with those brightly flashing pop up ads that appear from nowhere and nearly blind me while I frantically try to locate their exit button. I keep thinking that my retina will never be the same after exposure to such intense trauma.

Count me as another person who hates those stupid chain letters. What I hate more is when someone I know sends me one of those and the same message has gone out to 50 of that person's closest friends and they don't BCC the list. This means that now 50 total strangers have my personal (rather than my Hotmail) email address.

HOW ABOUT PEOPLE WHO TYPE IN ALL CAPS!!!???!!!! AND USE EXCESSIVE PUNCTUATION!!!????!!!!!

I get spam for herbal Viagra and diet aids every day. I used to get porn spam that involved farm animals and incest (I'm totally not kidding), so I guess I should be happy with the faux Viagra and diet pills!

I'm using 8.0 and can't get 9.0 to work on my computer for some reason. I downloaded my popup blocker from cnet or one of those types of websites. It works great, so it's worth a look.

I agree. Not to mention, that tells me that the person was too lazy to look at my profile and ask me something intelligent. I haven't been in chat rooms in a couple of years so I haven't had to get upset at that one lately. whew!

Critical... I will admit that I, on occasion, abuse exclamation points. And ellipses. My name is Broadway and I am an ellipses addict.

After many years of my own mother sending me mooshy crap and then my dad sending it to me later in the afternoon, I finally figured out a way to stop the madness. I had asked them in person and in email not to send me this crap. That did not work so well so I would send it back to them three times for every time they would send it to me. You can bet that they got the message that I do not want that junk in my mailbox. I would rather get a nice note about what they have been doing that week or plan to do next week than a chain letter full of fluff. Now I know wha tis going on in their lives and we communicate much better. There was a friend of a friend that did not get the message so quickly and I just had to ignore all her email.

I do not like when I go to play psychobabble and the entire room just wants to talk about sex. I just want to play not sngage in elicit acts.
