    Help Me Find (Christmas items)....

Okay, it just might be too early for this, but... I thought it might be a fun idea to have a thread to help our fellow FORTers find that unique Christmas gift, decorating item, or a specific hard-to-find item.

I'm putting it out now because I'm seriously looking for an antique brass stocking holder, and that's something that I want to put out right after Thanksgiving. My sister's store sold them a few years ago but I missed out on getting one because I had no need. Now I have a fireplace, but no perfect holder.

Has anyone seen one in antique brass??

    Thanks! :santawink

I didn't check to see if any were antiques but you might want to look through the listings.

The snowman ones are really cute, applesauce. I need antique brass, tho. This gives me an idea to check the Pottery Barn website (since there were a couple of PB holders on ebay!)

    Thanks!

Oh, this is interesting. They have some in a flowerpot design that I could probably fill with colorful globe ornaments. This might be pretty cool!

    Perfect!

I'd like to help but I refuse to help anyone decorate for Christmas in November, sorry.
Seriously, I wouldn't know where to start looking for antique ones. Couldn't you just TELL people they are antique?

Antique isn't referring to age, it's referring to color. Antique brass is more of a brownish shade instead of the bright *goldish* brass look.

If you can't find it on ebay, then it'll probably be REALLY really really hard to find.....

Broadway have you tried a decorating/craft store . In Texas we have Garden Ridge which is huge on any kind of decoration for the home and they always have tons of Christmas stuff.

Sometimes you can find floral/decorating stores that are wholesale but are also open to the public and you can find good deals that way.

    Good Luck.

Smile it makes people wonder what you are up to.
