    Turducken

Has anybody ever tried Turducken for Thanksgiving? I'm gonna try and cook one this year. Any advice?

take your time deboning the turkey, duck and chicken. If it's your first time doing this dish, it will take you about 2 hours to debone the turkey alone. Don't pierce the skin or the stuffings will ooze out. Make sure the stuffings are cold when you assemble your turducken.

I remember seeing Turducken in the freezer section at Costco last year. They might try and sell it again this year

I saw Emeril do this one day about two years ago. he even put a game hen in too. plus the duck and chicken. said it took only 3 hours to cook. but food channel had a company that sells it ready to cook and said 7 hours.

I've seen this, but it always seemed to me to be just asking for Salmonella poisoning. I know if done correctly, I'm probably wrong, but I just can't make myself try this. :rolleyes

A chicken stuffed inside a duck stuffed inside a turkey. If I remember correctly, that is...

    It still sounds terrible enough.

It's a turkey that's been boned, then stuffed with a chicken that's been boned, and THEN stuffed with a duck that's been boned. So you have the 3 types of meat in each slice of Turducken.

I would have to say your best bet, Rupert, is to get one of the already boned and made up Turduckens. I have had it before, and it is DELIGHTFUL!

Make one from scratch, no way! Order it. If anyone needs a link, just look at the bottom of this page where the google keyword-based ads go. There are several Turducken places to choose from right here on this page (at least there were a minute ago.)
