GAH! Now that is disturbing...and yet still strangely alluring.

    Mmm, turducken-y...

SnowflakeGirl: Your quote....where IS that from!!!??? I can hear it being said inside my head and either I've heard it or you're a psychic comedian...and for that my friend, I give you a big

I'm glad that someone else shares my offbeat humor.

Lambikins - Snowy's quote is paraphrased from the Simpsons. The "..yet strangely alluring" is from an episode where Homer steals cable and Bart and all his friends are watching the porno channel. One of them says "eww, Gross!!" and then another one (Martin, I believe) says "yet strangely compelling"

The 'Mmmm turducken-y' is something that Homer often says while eating something off beat.

Snowy -I hope you don't mind me answering for you and more so, I hope I'm right

FinallyHere: Thanks!!! It was going to bug me all day long, because I could "see" someone saying it and hear the intonation, I just didn't know the source. I used to watch THE SIMPSONS quite a bit, years ago, but somehow got out of the habit.

I never would have made the cultural connection. Thank you, for giving my brain
    peace
today! I need all my brain cells focusing on the task at hand, not digging around for Pop Culture references!

We have a local specialty shop here that sells Turducken, Petty's Meats. I've always been interested to try one, but just never have the opportunity. Guess one of these years I should just throw a Thanksgiving dinner and invite my friends instead of always crashing their houses and then I'll have a good excuse for it.

When I saw the idea on tv I was floored It's an amazing amount of work and would feed many. I'm not a fan of duck though. Even so, it would be pretty cool! Maybe if I put ham in the middle, Turhamen!

I'd rather just deep fry a turkey - outside - away from the house... just in case.

John Madden had one on Mon. night football a few years ago and they were showing it and saying how wonderful it was and we've wanted to try it ever since then.

I looked last year for one and they were about $75 and fed 20-30 and as there was just us 3 last year, we couldn't do that. In fact, we had cornish game hens for Thanksgiving last year. This year, there will be 7 of us and I will do the traditional feast.

But I'd LOVE to try the turducken someday.
