    1. unfortunately we have an artificial tree - I feel safer with all the kids around
    2. I shop early (daughter and family kids are done) but I always manage to shop up to the last minute and um I always manage to sneak in a few pre-Christmas gifts for me
    3. Gag-nog?? um no thanks!
    4. We decorate lavishly inside and sparingly outside.

    Waiting for Spring
I'm definitely on the after Thanksgiving train. When my sisters and I were kids, I refused to let them play the Christmas records until December 1 (when you are the oldest, you usually win these battles). Now I've relaxed and the day after Thanksgiving is fine.

I knew we were firmly in the commercial holiday season when my grande non-fat latte came in the snowflake decorated festive cup.

    1. Real tree or artificial?
    Real. Preferably a noble fir.
    2. Shop early or last minute?
Depends on the year and whether I've had an inspired idea for a gift for someone.
    3. Are you a fan of eggnog?
I love eggnog especially if it's cut with some milk. When I was a kid, we used to make the homemade kind.
    4. Decorate outside AND inside of the house?
Other than a few decorations I drag out each year inside, neither.

I've seen a lot of places that still have Halloween decorations up! No Christmas yet

    1. Real tree or artificial? Real! The smell is amazing!
    2. Shop early or last minute? In the middle.
    3. Are you a fan of eggnog? YUCK!
    4. Decorate outside AND inside of the house? Some outside, more inside.

Seems like FoRTers are pretty much split down the middle with the holiday poll so far! The funny thing is that I am actually starting to look forward to the holiday now due to this thread alone!

    Good point, Erin. Very true.

Side Note: DJeterFan, he looks good anyway, but yes he does clean up nicely! That pic is HOT! How about you wrap him and put him under my Christmas tree this year?

    *real tree (smells good)
*shop a little every week starting in October - kids point out what they want in catalogs
*try non-fat eggnog. It's not as thick
*I decorate inside, but place the decorated tree in the picture window so it can be seen from outside.

What about fruitcake? I love fruitcake. Don't get why it has such a bad rap.
