It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

One store at the mall has had Christmas stuff out since August. Now, here in South Louisiana, it's about 100 degrees (with the heat index) in August. Last thing I want to see is a faux-snow covered fake tree. It just irritates the crap out of me. The Christmas stuff picked up in early October, and is now in full swing since the Halloween stuff went away on the weekend...before actual Halloween. At least it's getting kind of cooler outside...finally!

The whole early Christmas stuff has really put me off the fall holidays entirely for the past several years--really, since I started working full time. Before, I wouldn't notice because I was knee-deep in studying for exams right up till Christmas. Now it is my least favorite time of the year due to the crazed, stresed people and the rampant commercialism.

I'm on the "No Christmas stuff til after Thanksgiving bandwagon." That's the way it was when we were little and we liked it! Damn kids nowadays all about me, me, me, gifts for me, where's my present, blah, blah, blah. You're getting a lump of coal and that's it.

I can't really remember when the Christmas hype starts around here. All I know is I sure do miss being able to see all the cool new ornaments and Christmassy stuff. I used to be an ornament junkie -- BIG TIME.:santagrin

My neighbor put his lights up yesterday, just to beat the snow. He hasn't turned them on. There is one radio station that started playing all Christmas music 24 hours a day on Monday. :rolleyes

We don't have any lights around us up yet, but I've caught the bug . I've been listening to music, happy to see the Hershey Kisses jingle song. There has been a few Christmas commercials already on tv. Wierd, but it's fine to me.

Its getting cold here, it was 0 degrees over night and when I went out to my car at 5:30 this morning I was freezing and had to scrape the ice off of my windows. I just need more cash so I can buy presents. Going to go big this year.
