These are on my grocery list every week for my b/f. He will also eat the Double Chocolate Swiss Rolls as well as the Oatmeal Creme Pies. I have to get a box or 2 of 1 or more of these flavors every week. I like the Strawberry Shortcake rolls but my box lasts more than a week!

Oh! I forgot a treat we use to make all the time as kids! Take a saltine cracker, spread chocolate frosting on the top, then place another cracker ontop of the frosting. You have a salty/sweet little treat!

At the moment I am making a poor girl's croque madame. It's basically a grilled cheese sandwich with some form of chicken meat in it. I'm a weird person who doesnt like plain grilled cheese.

Oh those sound Divine. I think we are having leftovers tonight and soup and sandwiches tomorrow.

Grilled cheese is so comforting when its cold out. I like to dip mine in tomato soup.

    Re: Comfort Food

If ever there was a time that I needed comfort food (for the body, anyway; my mind was no worse than usual ), it was yesterday. I spent the day working outside, and the high temperature was 24F. I couldn't wear gloves because I needed full manual dexterity, and I couldn't wear extra layers because (a) I was doing a lot of bending and (b) I'm too rotund. By the end of the day, I ached all over (especially my arms and knees), and couldn't really stand upright (at one point, I was so bent over that my partner's little girl asked, "Mommy, did Uncle Newf lose something?" ) Comfort food to the rescue! I made a batch of my mother's meatballs and mashed potatoes, and had a big, heaping helping. Thanks to their magical healing powers, I felt better almost immediately, and I didn't wake up sore this morning I'm having a booster this evening (aka leftovers), so by tomorrow I should be as good as ever (again, )

    Newf
, I made homemade soup from a ham bone I had saved! I wish I could send you a bowl of it! It was sooooooooo good and hearty (with potatoes in there etc.). We had it with crusty bread, some brie and hard pepperoni...

    Re: Comfort Food

Yeah, Newf, I made my famous chili, I wish I could send you some. Working outside in the cold has to bite. My husband has to do it too and I always make sure we have something hot and comforting for dinner on those bad days like you had.

Meatballs sound so good right now. Even after having good chili.
