Save me a table, I'm coming for breakfast. Can I get half a plate though, I can't eat 3 eggs.

On the morning of my wedding (almost 18 years ago), I got up and fixed breakfast for a whole bunch of people. We had corned beef hash, poached eggs and biscuits. Everyone was amazed that I was up and cooking the morning of my wedding. But I couldn't sleep, was nervous and the weddding was in about 10 hours, so I kind of had some time. But corned beef hash has always been a favorite.

Your restaurant sounds great. LIke a real down home place to eat. Do you have grits though? While I like home fries, I'm more partial to grits.

There, grits. ANOTHER comfort food for me.

mmmmmmmm SOS. I like it when it's made with Turkey. My grandma use to make it all the time. I bet the turkey version would be great over mashed potatoes.

Mom made SOS a couple of times, but only if Dad was out of town. He did NOT like reminders of his time in the military. After serving in North Africa during WW2, he swore that he'd belt any of his kids who wanted a sandbox

This thread has inspired me. The next time the weather turns cold, I'm making Mom's meatballs

So I take it no one got a sandbox?

    Re: Comfort Food

This thread is making me hungrier than the recipe thread ever does!
Add me to the grilled cheese and tomato soup group. Also the meatloaf and mashed potatoes group.
I also really like a hot buttered toast and a cup of hot tea with a little splash of milk.
Haven't had SOS since I was a kid, but I always order biscuits and gravy with a side of corned beef hash when I go to a local greasy spoon for breakfast. I don't go there very often, though.

My favorite comfort food is a box of Kraft Mac & Cheese and a couple of grilled, split-open hot dogs.
