I would google Movie costume reproductions or patterns. It's worth a shot.

I know which dress you are talking about and its really cute.

Hey, Need some sexy costume advice for halloween!

Im throwing a party at my house for Halloween. I want to dress as something sexy without being too ****ty... haha. I was thinking this two:

Oh, ugh - REALLY don't like the troll one.

The Supergirl one is super cute.

I have no idea how old you are...? That would color my opinion.

I'm a big fat 41 year old. I dress cute/punk/sexy for Halloween when I can work up the post-depression motivation to do so. For me, that usually means a homemade costume made from bits and pieces around the house. This is the full costume of the fairy I'm using as my avatar pic:

I already had the corset, skirt, tights, boots, armwarmers, collar, shirt, makeup. I added a wig & wings I got at a yard sale. I was going for a fairy in the style of that artist that was pretty popular at Hot Topic a couple years ago.

Just a little inspiration. If you can afford a nice costume, rather than have to put one together like I do, I'd go as cute as you could.

    Thanks!

It helps that me and my husband both have an inclination toward the eclectic and things that require some sort of costuming - hanging out at a goth club, Renaissance festivals, etc.

I have a lot of really odd bits and pieces in my closet that I can mix and match into costumy outfits and outright costumes. And I keep a full stock of theatrical makeup shades, too.

Sans the wig & wings, that's an outfit I actually wear to the club sometimes.

I wish my motivation were stronger these days. I just can't bring myself to put the energy and effort into putting on an outfit like this lately. Plus, the goth club we go to is in Detroit. The only good thing we own right now is our minivan, and I don't want to risk it being vandalized when we're in the club - it's happened before and we're too precarious financially to risk it right now.

    Fierce, that costume is great.
It reminds me of my friend who used to put together the greatest costumes. She, too, just pieced them together. They always looked better than the store bought ones.
You look like an S & M fairy!! Too funny. Thanks for sharing.

Halloween or other costumes - ideas

Either post about one you've worn or seen, or an idea for yourself or someone else.

My parents went to a Halloween party as Wee Willie Winky and friend. I've forgotten the rhyme and too lazy to look it up, but they were dressed in wigs and sleepwear; my father's had a "drop door" but it was buttoned shut, in case you were wondering. My parents were very conservative but had a sense of humor. My father carried a chamber pot and they put peanut butter and toilet paper in it.
The Bachelor/Bachelorette series is a soap opera with unskilled actors, bad writing, and beautiful locations...it even edits the real moon!

When I was a child, my older sister dressed my younger sister and I as Crest toothpaste and a toothbrush. The costumes were made out of long boxes. When we were crossing a creek to get to another part of the neighborhood, I fell down and couldn't get up (I formed a "bridge" over the creek).
