My nephew and his wife became 1st time parents of a baby yesterday. 6 lbs 2 oz. This is the 1st great nephew or great niece on either my husband's or my side, making us a great-uncle and a great- aunt, respectively.

    Re: Share your good news

Good news. Some of you know I've been on oxygen since May after ending up in the hospital the previous spring in full repertory failure. The good news is, after nearly 8 months of tests and retests and lots more tests (did I mention tests)I've finally been approved for surgery by my pulmonologist. My left lung is scarred badly at the bottom-and that hasn't gotten better. But, my lungs are stronger now and my blood oxygen level is in the mid nineties. Which is amazing because at one point it was anywhere between 88 to 63(not good to bad). I'm waiting to hear from the surgeon so we can meet and set a date. So, it won't be probably until the new year. But, that's fine. Also, my pulmonologist said (and he's never said this before) I could possibly be off of oxygen altogether, eventually. I'm so glad. My poor Dad. I've been living wit him since mid-summer because The doctor said I am too sick to live alone. At first it was weird being back home and I know my Dad had to make readjustments to his life. But, we are getting along really well now. He's 88 but you would never know it. He's full of energy, goes out often and chalks up his aches and pains to "the price I pay for living a long and interesting life."

That's wonderful news, redsox girl! And I'm sure you'll find that this time you've had with your dad will have been a very precious period of your life.
