I just cut mine short"er" for me but can never cut it short. My stylist knows me and even if I say to do it, she'd never do it. Congrats to everyone with good news!

That's great news (lots of new good news here since the last time I checked, from jobs to health to puppies to cuts!), but I didn't follow the hitch. I've heard that tribal powers have to approve the adopting out of kids from a given tribe, but never that if the adults are Nat. Am. and the kids aren't (??) that that has to be approved. Or isn't that what you meant??
Nennie, great news!
My wonderful news is that I got my marriage license yesterday. One month and 7 days to go!!
Laughing/crying at the forum home page under the MTV reality section it says "I used to be Fat" by Tbamom.....

I have running water in my kitchen! It's been one day shy of a full month since my kitchen reno started and the sink went bye-bye and it's such a relief to have the sink back. The dishwasher will go in tomorrow and then it's just a few more cosmetic details, but I can actually cook and eat off of real plates again.
Our lawyer was sick on the original day we were supposed to go to court to sever the rights of the mother and the only one that showed up was the Indian social worker. When the new court date was set she didn't get the new date so after the adoption was finalized and she got her papers she said that we have to have her approval because the kids are registered Cherokee Indian. We are also registered Cherokee. The lady has since visited with my sister and all is well and the new court date for the Indians to sign off on it has been set. Everyone is in sync now and no more hitches or glitches.
Any native american tribe has jurisdiction over children that are registered. The Indians protect their own. The reason we didn't push severing rights of the parents sooner is that the mother is the Indian blood and for a few years the Cherokees were trying to rehabilitate the parents so they weren't freely letting rights be severed and kids adopted. Our lawyer advised us to wait awhile to pursue it. Our lawyer is an adoption specialist lawyer so she knows the ins and outs of what they do.
You don't have to attend every argument you are invited to.
So complicated, but so glad for you ALL that it is all working out. Thanks for the info!
sounds great! I am entering year 2 with a partial master bath. My husband is a very slow DIYer. We don't have a floor (just raw subfloor), vanity or tub but I have a shower and http://www.cleverandeasy.com/images/...ilet-basin.jpg toilet with built in sink so, somehow we are managing. I have learned that I must hire out for a kitchen redo, though because there is no way I can live that long without necessities.

The numbers on the scale are finally moving down after about 2 years of working on it after 2 years of gaining weight after losing 60 lbs. Did you follow that? LOL I am a happy camper!
