Congrats! A lot of time has passed. I feel bad that folks aren't on FORT more often in the other threads. I haven't checked on the TV show threads much lately either.

Late to the party, mrd, as I've been to FL for my first grandchild's first birthday (note the tie in!), but congratulations! I hope you live closer to yours than I do to mine...and wow, to see him born, how great!

Some of you know that our oldest son needs a bone marrow transplant and that his employer-provided health insurance carrier denied coverage for it.

Good news - a donor has been found and the surgeries scheduled! We are so relieved, it's like an enormous weight has been lifted from us.

We had to pay for this out of pocket - including all medical expenses for the donor. But, our son's employer kicked in $25K AND he has successfully negotiated after-the-fact coverage (after threatening to drop this carrier), and we will be receiving some reimbursement soon.

The transplant will be done on 3/6.

This is just tremendously good news! I will be sending up a prayer for your son's surgery and a successful recovery. So happy for all of you!
