Wal*Mart just finished a 7-week fundraiser for Childrens' Miracle Network. I was the top fundraiser for my store--I raised $1792 through the generosity of my customers. My total was more than the 2nd and 3rd place totals combined, and about 38% of the store's total. I feel pretty good about the good that I did.

Cootie, that's great news. What a relief that must be for you. My BIL who has been going through the same thing with his company, just voted and they accepted a 3 yr contract which relieves quite a bit of uncertainy for him. He planned on retiring next year, but not knowing the outcome of this last contract, it was pretty scary for him. He could have lost his pension, the company could have closed, or he could be secure until he retires. We are all happy for him.

That is really great news Newfherder.

I know I'm new here, but- my son was awarded primary custody of his kids this week. There's a down side though and it seems to be that I will have to continue to be prey to my ex-daughter-in-law and the considerable nastiness she can dish.

Yes, it's by far good news. I've never been the type that could ever tell half a story though.

You'd be surprised at the nastiness she can dish, though I am hoping once she gets over losing primary custody, her food stamps, WIC, and (the horror) now having to pay my son child support she'll settle down some. I hope so, I've already had to ban her from the inside of my house.
