    Re: Share your good news

    Thanks everyone.

Well between the interview last wee and this week, the nature of the job changed, the money changed and the job became temporary.
I cannot move and uproot my life on a position that may or may not be there in 3 months and that the money significantly changed.
The regional manager that interviewed me and that called me yesterday said that once the corporate office got hold of it, they changed the position around quite a bit. She wasn't too happy either because it means that it will be more work for her. In fact, I have to really give her a lot of credit for her honesty when she said: "I wouldn't move for this and if I were you, I would still send out resumes."
She was very honest and I really appreciated that. Would have hated to have moved and then found out that the position was considered a temp postion which meant no benefits. When first described the compensation was really good and the benefits even better. And I need insurance, so the benefits were what was really making me excited about this.

It's just like that phrase 'you don't know what you have until it's gone'. And don't make it too easy for him -- I understand that he's been going through internal struggles, but you deserve some sort of assurance that he isn't going to just pull the rug out from under you again without at least trying to work things through in less extreme ways first.

And maybe there's a great new flex-time job back home with health and tuition reimbursement benefits!
