I took a bag of kitty treats in my purse for his 3 cats. By the time I left we were boon companions. He told me one cat loves to play with string but he never thought to do that with him, so I spent a lot of time playing with the cats.

I'm glad things went so well. It sounds like you had a good time. Any plans for a return visit? Or is the next time his turn to visit you?

Gut I'm glad it went well. So you think this might pan out???? Hmmm?

Well we are moved. the nightmare is only partially over, but we are in.
Hubby tried to burn down the neighborhood today by putting boxes in the burn barrel and started a grass fire that was creeping to the woods.
The washing machine did not survive the move.
I just got the kitchen up and running today.
Lot's more to do, but it will get done. We got our down payment back on the other place.

One week from today I will be in Florida for 5 days seeing old friends and having fun. I almost cancelled the trip, but I have had the tickets for 6 weeks and I think we will be organized enough that I can go and not feel guilty. Not that I would anyway. I'm going ALONE! Meeting friends and getting warm.

Captain, congrats on the retirement. I'm sorry to hear about your sister, but I'm glad this is all working out for you.

One cat decided he needed to sleep with me.
MRD - go have fun in FL!!! Don't think about home even once. You need some R&R. How does that fit in with school? Spring break?

Nope, spring break is 2 weeks after I get back. I leave on a Thur after school and return on Tues. morning. I will only miss one class as I plan to go straight to school from the airport.
This year would be my 30th HS reunion if we were having one. So several of us are planning on meeting up for the weekend and going to hear a former classmates band. So it's an unofficial reunion with only a select few friends.

And then I am planning on seeing some family while I am down there as well.

I plan to spend spring break finishing up the house unpacking. All the essential stuff is done and the rest can wait until I have spring break to do it like I really want it.

Just found the plug to the oven/stove IN the oven. So now that the kitchen is unpacked and we could cook, we can't yet. I don't know WHAT is up with the cord being IN the oven. Obviously it's not attached at all to the stove.
And the washer won't drain. Oh well. I don't have to cook or do laundry, how lucky is that?

Order out Chinese, eat on paper plates, and go buy everyone multi-packs of underwear. Problems solved!

    Re: Share your good news

Gut, we have eaten out for a week. I am so sick of "moving food", you know: pizza, chinese, burgers, take out chicken, you name it. And we have been eating on paper plates for that time too. I just got the other ones unpacked today.

I was looking forward to some home cooking. OH WELL. Not all THAT unhappy, but it was just ANOTHER thing on top of all the other things.

But the underwear multipacks are a grand idea. My husband actually went to the laundromat. I think he volunteered to do it so he could have peace and quiet and be left alone for 2 hours.
