You guys don't know what you are missing! Leftover pasta with tons of parmesan cheese on my grandma's homemade bread was my favorite lunch when I was growing up.

LOL at the McSpam. When we were in Greece many years ago, Mr. S had to try the McDonalds near our hotel in Athens. What do you know, they had a HUGE Greek salad bar, for $5.00. You paid and got your plate, and then just heaped it as high as you want. All of the veggies were fresh, the dressing was divine, and the best part of all? The HUNKS (and I mean HUNKS) of feta cheese, heaped in a bowl, to put on top. I have never seen anything like it. It was the best meal at McD's I've ever had I hate McDonald's so that's not saying much, but man that was great. They also served BEER with your meal.

This, at least to me, qualifies as good news:
It's now officially 10 years -- one whole decade -- that I have not eaten anything from McDonalds, or any of the fast-food chains, for that matter. And I'm healthier for it.

They serve beer at McDonald's in Spain too.

They'd have to serve beer here to get me to go to McDonald's. I hate that place. I usually only fast food it at Arby's as I love their chicken salad. But I really don't like much fast food. I will resort to it is there is NO other option. But I try to find other options. Mine isn't so much that it isn't healthy, it's just that it all tastes nasty. There are MUCH better places for hamburgers that are locally owned that I'd rather spend my money at.

Sweetpea, that sounds divine. So maybe visiting a McD's in a foreign country might actually be ok to do. I always thought why would ANYONE do that, but after reading your post and seeing some of the stuff in Unk's link, it might be a cultural learning thing.

Free public restrooms. That's why I go. But I don't always stop long enough to see what's on the menu.

Congratulations to your parents Ana Banana!
