    Re: Share your good news

It has been a while since we had some good news around the FORT -

My grandniece, 9 months old, just got out of the hospital after surgery to remove a 5" tumor. She has a cancer that affects small children. The good news is that she does not need chemotherapy and there is only a very small chance of recurrence of this cancer. She is lucky to live near a hospital with an expert on the type of tumor that she had.

And my brother is getting better from his cancer surgery. They both had surgery the same week.

Thanks so much for all the support you gave me when I found out about their surgeries...

Great news, Cootie! And it's good to hear about a youngster surviving with an uplifting future of no reoccurance.

There was an article today in the Chicago Tribune about a family with three small children, and two of them have Barretts (?). Some very rare cancer that literally eats away the child's brain. There is no cure and zero chance of survival.

It's so heart-breaking when these children, who don't understand and have done nothing, get these nasty life-threatening issues. So God keep your grandniece and her parents.

That is really great news Cootie! I hope things continue to go well for both your brother and your grand-niece.
When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "Happy." They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life. - John Lennon
