I have a bouquet of lilacs on my table. Several bushes are blooming now in my yard.

Oh lucky you. I have a nice view of the trash can in the middle of the street where the garbage men left it and a rainy day. I could use a bouquet or two.
My good news is that I'm making lots of progress on things that seemed insurmountable earlier in the week.

I finally got my taxes done. Yeah, I'm a major procrastinator! But we came out ok this year. We have to pay $102 to state but get back $168 from federal. So I'm happy with that and that it's behind me for another year.

Good for you Lil Bit. I haven't picked ours up yet but did exchange emails with our CPA and she said we owe $475. We were afraid it might be a lot, so we're pleased with that. Well not as pleased as we would be if we were getting that much BACK, but you know what I mean. Could have been much, much worse.

    Re: Share your good news

We owe what I consider a large amount, so it's not going in until the VERY last minute. I thought we'd get a refund this year. Big surprise to me. But I apparantly did not have any taxes taken out of my pay and with hubby self-employed, it is going to cost us a couple grand. This should really be in the bad news thread.

But yeah to all of you getting refunds or not owing too much.

    Re: Share your good news

We normally have to pay in but we increased the withholding from our paychecks last year, and I guess me being laid off for so long has helped too. (Never thought I'd say that)
