Well the blackeyed pea and collard greens I ate on New Year's day must be working.
I just got thrown a paid speaking engagement for Feb. AND a rental event for this week. Love those rentals, as they pay EXTRA.

But in the past 24 hours I got my financial aid grant, the lecture and the rental. So I'm a happy girl today!

Off to buy a lottery ticket while my luck holds.

My little good news is that my sweetie set up my 640 GB My Book external Hard Drive (he gave me for Xmas) while he was here. So now, I'm covered if my computer crashes!

Luck didn't hold. I didn't match a single number last night.

MRD, but did you at least have fun and a little excitement while the numbers were being read? As small as it is, I get so excited when my numbers are off by one from the winner!

    Re: Share your good news

No, no excitement. I checked it online. And not one number was a match.

We pulled an EVIL trick on a friend once. Many years ago, every Memorial Day weekend a big group of us used to stay at the same motel at the beach. This one friend usually had a sheaf of lottery tickets and made a big show out of checking the numbers every morning in the newspaper. We stayed up and watched the 11 pm drawing for the BIG prize and wrote down the numbers and went to the store and bought a ticket for the NEXT week's drawing using those numbers and then inserted that ticket in with his batch when he wasn't around. The next morning, he sat down on the patio with his coffee, paper and tickets and proceeded to check them. His eyes got big, he threw the paper down and double checked, jumped out of his seat and was yelling: "I won! I won! I won!, running around and having a fit. The rest of us were about to fall out of our chairs laughing. It took him a couple minutes to realize that no one else was excited and were actually laughing.
He then looked at the ticket again and this time noticed the date. One of the BEST jokes we've ever played on someone. Funny thing is that he has now played it on other people. It's the joke that keeps on giving.
He was a tad annoyed at first, but then thought it was a good joke and was good natured about it. We knew he had a good sense of humor or we wouldn't have done it to him.

I still laugh and that was about 15 years ago! But it didn't happen to me either. Still it was one of the funniest things ever.

This probably changes your mind about wanting to be my friend now huh?
