    Do start a college thread.

I'm old enough to be the mother of most of the students I will be going with. I'm 46.

Fortunatly my husband can tutor me in both math and science which I'm going to need.

I'm a history major. As long as I can count years and centuries, what more math do I need?

I've seriously considered going back to school myself, especially now that I'm unemployed. It's always the prospect of math *shudder* that has stopped me. I have to find something that I can do without having to take math. Anything else would be okay.

I'll join you all in the going back to school talk. I decided to go to Law school about a year and a half ago, and it's been a great experience. I'm really glad I waited before I started and it's a completly different experience from when I did my undergrad. I'm older than most of the students, but like Star said, no one treats me any differently. I definitely see the difference in my study habits and class preparation, and I NEVER skip class. Part of it is being older and the other huge factor is that I'm actually the one paying for it now, so I want to get my money's worth.

I now have about a year of classes left and I'm really glad I made the decision to do it.

    That's awesome, Yardgnome!

I'll start a thread for the back to school talk so anyone that wants to share experiences/stories can.

I had always thought that I wasn't very strong in math (because I got B's instead of my usual A's in everything else); however, now I think I was just insecure. If I can clear a spot in my schedule, I'd love to take a math class, 'cuz I think now I'd kick ass.

In a couple of hours, I'm going to meet with Canuckinchile, who's in my town for the weekend! I'm really looking forward to this little CanadianFORT meetup.

Oh, have fun! I've met many FORTers in real life since I started here and I've never regretted it. They are just as sweet and fun in person.

It was fun! I'm sure DR's ears are still ringing after I downed two cups of high test coffee We had a great visit and I hope I can reciprocate one day if she ever makes it to Toronto. Eté formidable!

    Re: Share your good news

Well - I don't hear from my younger brother very often. Haven't heard a word since he was here in May for my son's wedding. Got an email from his this morning; it included pictures of his grandson. Didn't even know my niece was expecting! I'm very excited and happy for her (and him, of course) but it'll be a tough road for her (she's young). And it isn't fair that he gets a grandchild before *I* do!

Congratulations SR5Rfan. Babies are always fun to spoil, although grandchildren are extra special. I hope you will be able to see your brother and his family more often.
