Re: Share your good news

One last bit of encouragement about learing the medical stuff.

I was recently told at the museum, that they can teach people the history they need to know, but they can't teach the people skills and the enthusiasm for the job. So they'd rather find people that are outgoing and enthusiastic and teach them the material than have someone who knows the material, but has the personality of a limp dish rag.

So just know that a lot of times employers know the right person for the job may not have "all" the knowledge, but that they can teach it to them, but they can't teach them the qualities that they probably hired them for. And I'm sure that applies to you too. You had the qualities they were looking for and they can teach you the medical stuff.

Congratulations chrelsey! It's a nice feeling when so many good things happen at once. I took a medical terminology class recently and it wasn't hard at all, in fact it's very interesting. I'm sure you'll do just fine.

Re: Share your good news

Thanks, guys, for all of your encouragement and kind words. I'm confident that I can - and will - pick up the medical stuff . . . I'm just so used to already knowing what I need to know and being good at what I do, that I guess it is hard for me to come into something feeling so inadequate! It's just a humbling reminder that I really don't know everything! But, I do have the confidence and enthusiasm necessary to dive right into the deep end (without any floaties!) and give it my all!

And now, per Newf's advice, I'm off to study for my drug test!

Re: Share your good news

Congratulations Chrelsey! WOO HOO! You'll be great!

---------
my little good news: The digging in my alley is done and I was able to park my car in my garage for the first time in a month! It also means that the garbage truck will be able to do it's pick up tomorrow morning as usual, so I don't have to put everything out in the front anymore!

They still have to bring in gravel and pave and alley, but it's nice to put the car inside. The trees have left a thick coating of sticky goop all over my old buggy and I was able to finally get it all off at the car wash tonight.
