I asked him if he had been telling his friends he had a car and yeah he had been telling everybody. I'm getting him a shirt made with a picture of the car and the caption "Zac's Cruiser" printed under it.
Makes me wish you were MY grandfather!!!

Those steroids can be a bugger. They make you hungry and bloated. But hopefully the effects of all the meds won't be too long lasting.

Interestingly enough, I just read an article on a recent study done on cancer patients and others with chronic illnesses using psilosiban from psychedelic mushrooms to counter the depression and tiredness and feelings of non-well being in these patients. The patients reported that they felt in better spirits, happier and also felt more "spiritual" for up to a year after having taken the psilosiban. So more studies are underway with it to see if it would help counter the effects of the illnesses and the meds these patients were having to take in the treatment of the illnesses.
Not that I reccomend pyschedelic mushrooms for Zac or anyone. Just thought it was interesting that they might have found something that could countereffect how the treatments make people feel.

I bet Zac will love his t-shirt. Boy, you FORTERS come up with the best t-shirts!!!

Re: Share your good news

So here's my good news for today - my son, who is a lifeguard at a Girl Scout camp (yeah, best job in the world for a 17-year-old boy!!), saved a kid's life yesterday! Imagine that! He was giving the kid her swim test. (In Scouts, when there are any wanter activities, each Scout needs to take a swim test. If they pass the test - great. If not, they can only go in shallow water in an area specifically marked for "non-swimmers".) Anyway, he was giving this kid her swim test, and he was swimming along side of her. He said she went down and didn't come up. So he had to dive under, get her, and drag her to the side of the pool. She was crying and all (I'd be pretty upset, too, if I almost drowned!). So they got her calmed down, and life went on. But I'm one proud mom!

Unk, thanks for keeping us updated on Zac. Hugs from NW Ohio to him.

Re: Share your good news

Wow Scoutmom, that is fabulous! I am sure you are very proud.

I hope the little girl doesn't have fear of the water after this. I know some children do. I hope her parents and scout leaders continue to teach her to swim so she can continue to get stronger in the water.

Your son did a great thing. He should be proud as well.
