I'm home (obviously) from the Bell Pioneering thing. What a great time. These kids, and some young adults, are really amazing. They have such a great spirit and really look forward to this event every year. God bless the Bell Pioneers!
Thank you for educating us about Bell Pioneering, and I'm happy to hear it was quite the success today.

Kimrs, I'm glad your mom is on the mend.

Some of you may or may not know the story of my 25th wedding anniversary from hell, but I try to live my life accepting disappointments and appreciating any good fortune no matter how small. So...we had planned our anniversary celebration with dear friends of ours who were also celebrating their 25th, as well as the four of us knowing each other 25 years. We've had reservations at a quaint, rustic resort (they call it a resort, but really they're rustic cabins ) for about eight months. The time finally came a few weeks ago and after a seven-hour drive, I became deathly ill. To make a long story short, Mr. Rose and I tried to get to a lower elevation to see if I could beat this bizarre illness, but we couldn't find a vacancy a-n-y-w-h-e-r-e. Twenty-three hours later, we were back home. Our friends stayed and managed to muddle through without us , and a week later, I was finally back to normal. Anyway, the resort was able to re-rent our cabin, and today I actually got a refund for four of the five nights we were supposed to be there. It's nice to know they're ethical enough to refund our money, and I highly recommend this place just outside Yosemite for a terrific get-away (our friends had a great time).

Our friends are quite willing to try something a little closer to home with us for Dual Anniversaries, Part Deux - hopefully the second time around will be more successful.

    That's great, roses!

My good news... **warning: only read if you do not tire of hearing me ramble about my friend Craig...**

I CAN TALK TO CRAIG AGAIN!!! He got his internet at the Naval Academy today, and since we're both members of the same internet-networking site, I CAN TALK TO HIM! I don't have to write any more wimpy postcards about the weather!!! YAY!!!

Sorry. It's very exciting. I don't think I've ever gone this long without talking to him.

One of the reasons our church wants my husband to go is that they will be doing rebuilding and he's been in construction for 25 years and has tons of building/remodeling experience.

Unk, that is a wonderful picture. You both look fabulous. Please tell us all about the wedding and reception.

My good news is that my daddy arrives tonight for a ten-day visit!

I always have a little stress when I'm out of my daily routine but that's nothing compared to the joy of seeing him again.

Not sure how much I'll be here. Like me, Dad does some of his business on the internet and if he's busy with that I'll be on-line more. But we'll definitely be beaching, hiking, etc. Mr. lei is taking time off so we'll all be mostly on vacation.

roseskid, scoutmom, myrosiedog, kimrs: That is all great news!

I got a flyer the other day and found out the vaccuum cleaner I bought the other day from Canadian Tire went on sale. I went back with my receipt and because it was within 10 days they gave me the $40 credit no questions asked! Easy, peasy, hassle-free.

Now, if only I had time to actually vaccuum the basement.
