I'm very happy to announce that I managed to change the lever on my toilet to a very nice silver and white porcelain one that matches my sink taps. I didn't break anything, and the toilet still flushes!

That is good news, now as newf said Gracie & Mr. Tootles won't have to share and can stop giving your quizzical looks.

Just want to report that my sister and her family (see "troubles" thread) were lucky enough to get a rental just a few doors from the disaster, so they will be right-there for the rebuild. Everything is going well, so far, and with the support of community (FORT too!) our family is going through this crisis better than I would have ever thought. We got up a few sticks of furniture, food and so forth to last till they get back to the real thing, so it's all good. Thanks again for all the sympathy here--I was needing it bad!

Finally recovering from a wild weekend surprise party for my 16 year old daughter and am now gearing up to fly to Chicago tomorrow straight from work for my birthday (50!) with my sister. I'll make sure I get on her computer Sat. This place ROCKS birthdays!

My little news is my sweetie is driving up tomorrow to take an airbrushing class with me on Sat. It should be fun. I'm glad he wasn't driving today. They got 4 inches of SNOW and the highway was dangerous.
