Glad you caught it, but it's a shame the water had to follow gravity and leak all the way down. At least it's not -30C. I hope. Do you have any damage?
No, neither the upstairs nor our second floor apartments had damage, except to my landlord's pocket book!

queenb: Glad to read that BOTH you and your sweetie are on the mend. You really do need a "new" year! Here's to good health and love in 2006 for the both of you!

*looks over at lambikins* I hate uncontrolled water*

queenb - that is very good news, now onto a splendid healthier 2006!

phat32 - That wouldn't change my mind about babies either, but the closest I've ever come is holding a week old. kind of scary, kept thinking I was going to drop the little bugger.

Congratulations on everyone's good news. Queenb - I'm so glad your honey's ok. Keep us posted. Magazines are a great idea, Dinahann. I'll have to remember that. When my firstborn entered the world, lightning struck the hospital and all the electricity went out - and it wasn't even raining! They played hot potato with her and then gave her to me. I still refer to her as my "evil daughter". My good news - yesterday the doctor gave me permission to start swimming again (haven't been able to since May). 2 more radiation sessions next week and I'm done! Rescheduled party here Jan. 4 around 4:30/5 pm. Be here or be square.
    Count your blessings!

Oh, you can bet I plan to swim! In my youth I was a competitive swimmer, did synchronized swimming, and was a lifeguard. In my adult life (before kids) I was an aquatics specialist at the YMCA. I taught swimming lessons, trained lifeguards, ran a program for people with arthritis, and coached swim team. When we camp, I swim out to the middle of the lake as the sun is rising and just float as the rays get warmer. I've really missed swimming.

Thanks, all of you. I got up there today and they have tubes draining his chest, which is causing a bunch of pain . He just about can't stand to breathe or speak much at all. Never mind the catheter for pee, IV in the neck, oxygen hose and a couple more tubes that I can't even identify. Looks like a bird nest up under those sheets! They are supposed to have the chest tubes out tomorrow, and supposedly that's what's causing most of the pain--I sure hope so, because this is no fun to watch. Still, I'm just glad everything went well, and he should be back to playing basketball in a couple of months.

Gutmutter, I'll be there, but I'll still be square, I'm afraid. And float around a while for me. I love the water too, but don't have access to swimming anymore! Are you telling us you have an INDOOR pool in your area?

There's a YMCA within WALKING distance! It's where I used to work, so everyone knows me. I worked there until I was 8 mo. preggers with my first child teaching aerobics, swimming, and kindergym. Queenb - I know it's hard to watched a loved one suffer, but surely they're giving him pain meds. Surround him with your love and in no time he'll be back on his feet and better than before.

Gutmutter! I'm glad to hear you'll be able to swim again! It must feel good for tings to start returning to "normal" again.

Hey lildago! How's the move going? The gods are poking me with a stick now. I turned on the news this morning to find out there's a major Nor'easter (snowstorm) due to hit tomorrow, so probably another delay in radiation. That bottle of champagne is starting to gather cobwebs.
    Count your blessings!
