Apparently there is such a thing as "riot tourists" I heard on the radio this morning - travel around from protest to protest, causing trouble. I was glued to CP24 for most of the weekend and was shocked by a lot of the behaviour, particularly as it is not standard behaviour in Toronto. In fact, I understand that they used tear gas for the first time in the city's history this weekend.Originally Posted by GuardianAngel;3951987;
I locked my bike out front of the building (in the financial district) this morning and have my fingers crossed that they have all done what they came to do and have gone home. I'm not relishing the idea of going out to find my bike trashed, but I really didn't feel like taking transit.
And so it begins, the end of times..
That sounds like the same stuff that happened in Seattle when we hosted the WTO. It made life downtown hell. I feel your pain.

Hiya!!! I almost feel like a stranger it has been so long since I have been here! We had our CT scan today after 2 rounds of chemo. The not so good thing is my son's tumor has grown and the "arm" holding onto the vessel to the heart has not shrank at all. All we have left is surgery. Very risky. The doctor is calling in a liver transplant specialist to consult with on the best way to remove 1/3 of my son's liver. That 1/3 is completely dead and the tumor is attached to it. If we can get that bad boy out, we can deal with the lung spots, spine spot and pancreas spot some other way. The doc does not want to go back and do another round of chemo because this treatment was the one type that would have done something to this type of cancer and it didn't. No use in messing up more of his good cells with the treatment when it isn't doing anything for the bad cells.
They are moving quickly. It has grown quite a bit in 6 weeks and we have no time to waste.
Good news......he graduated High School with a 2.9!! Yippee!! Thank you all for your light and prayers. We really feel them.
Namaste,
Buglover
Yup, with donuts!!
Hang in there bug. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Oh, bug - I was hoping for better news about the chemo results.Glad to hear the doctors are being aggressive about moving on to the next possibilities without wasting time. More love and light to you and your son and your family.
Count your blessings!
Thoughts and prayers are with you.
