Honestly I don't understand the motivation behind it. It was like it just came out of his mouth before he even thought about it. Once I calm down I will ask him what his thinking was in the matter.

Speaking as someone who has been burned by the "WHY DID YOU MAKE PLANS WITHOUT ASKING ME? " side of that coin, I can understand where he might want to clear activities through you. Other than that, I agree with Mariner--hauling kids to an amusement park would not be my idea of fun.

    One trouble and a vent....

My 5-year old has to have an outpatient surgery and he saw the specialist on the 20th of this month. 10 days later the woman has yet to call us with his surgery date and I've called her office on 4 different days to try and get one scheduled. Nobody has called me back. Obviously any faith I had in this surgeon has been destroyed by her complete lack of professionalism. Called my insurance company and told them what happened and they authorized us to get a second opinion and use that as the new doctor. Hope the next one goes better....and the doctor still hasn't called me back. Can't wait till she does so I can tell her off.

I'm at work and get this phone call from Westgate which is one of those predatory hotel/resort chains that call ALL THE TIME at your house. She asks for somebody who hasn't been here in years and I told her that and then she asks me if I take vacations. At which point I actually stop what I was doing and hold the phone away from my ear to stare at it for a minute...I have a private line at work and the fact that she even had it to call me was the reason I was shocked for a moment....get back to the phone call and tell her that I'm at work and....I don't even get to finish my statement. I was trying to be polite...she interrupts me and says "Ma'am there is no reason to get so loud. You have a nice day, ok? Bye...." at which point I interrupt her and say very loudly...."and you can go to **** don't call here again and learn some customer service while you are at it" and hung up on her. GAH!!!

I hope everything works out OK with the surgery, Harmony. Dealing with doctors and insurance companies can be SO frustrating!! And getting solicitation phone calls like that at work is just ridiculous. I get them every once in a while and tell them I'm at work, and I'll get in trouble for taking a personal call. That usually works, but it's still annoying.

    Re: Talk about your troubles

Ok, now EVERYONE is sick. I can barely make it to the computer to type these words. (I hope you all appreciate my sacrifice. )

I went to the dr. yesterday, taking my daughter today. Hubby called from his business trip and he's sick too. One of the guys he's with is having to leave because his grandfather had a stroke and isn't expected to live, so he's actually taken a BUS to Michigan. So hubby's trip will probably have to be extended a day or so now but it can't be helped. I know the guy going to Michigan and feel badly for him. He's had some terrible luck lately too with some other stuff and now this.

After my daughter's sprained foot and hubby's strained knee and this mutating, never going away bug we've all got, I am ready for a solicitor to call, they'd get a blistering earful from ME!

Actually, I could use a vacation. When I feel better.
I had longtime plans for tomorrow that I had to cancel. I was really looking forward to it too.

I have not been this sick in ages and the meds the doctor gave me yesterday are just not doing the trick.

I managed to somehow get through the frozen food aisle of the grocery store (thank god for shopping carts to hang on too) and get stocked up on expensive but easy to microwave food as we need to eat, but no one can make anything.

I just want to go curl up and sleep and not wake up for a week. But must. somehow. get. the. energy. to. take. child. to. doctor. and. pump gas to get there.

This started on Sun. and I rallied about Wed., but then it's gone downhill from there again. I feel like I'm getting worse instead of better. I'm on a combo of 2 antibiotics and something for the congestion.

I miss cough syrup with codiene in it. I don't know that it actually did anything for the sickness, but the codiene and alcohol in the cough syrup made you not care. And that's what I need right now.

I'm sorry you guys are all sick mrd. How horrible to have to do anything when you are sick! I eat raw garlic when I have illness and it seems to make things better in 24 hours but tastes really nasty.

Raw garlic! That's one I haven't heard before.

MRD - I hope you and your family start feeling better very soon. I had it a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately, it only lasted about a week, but I felt really draggy for a while after that. I'm still not 100% yet - close, but not quite there. Get plenty of rest!

MRD, I put my mask on so I wouldn't catch what you have! I hope you feel better-nothing worse than a horrendous cold in the early summertime!

Buglover, I can't imagine what was going through his head when he said that. I'm sorry, and hope that you can mend things with his children.

Harmony, I hope the surgery gets scheduled real soon-I know that's a worry when it doesn't happen within a certain timeframe. And I love your phone solicitation response. I now find that when I don't give my name, they tend to hang up. I've had a certain company calling for a week now and when I refuse to give my name, they hang up on me! I think I'll start giving out Ezmerelda Schmeidelkppf or Bolivar Shaggnasti or Ethel Floone (I almost think these were character names from Jonathan Winters, but we used the names as our names in the DaisyMae Club when I was growing up-I was Ethel Floone)

Thanks famita, we're working slowly through this. How are you hanging in there these days? I hope things are at least getting easier to cope with.

MRD - my crockpot veggie soup cures anything. If you can't find it on "Recipes" p.m. me.
    Count your blessings!
