    Re: Talk about your troubles

Interesting. Thanks all for the info. I don't think he minds the boss so much as he minds the bosses son that is now working with them. I can't repeat the things he said about him.

He is supposed to be training the bosses son to take over the job of foreman. The boss has told his son that while they are doing this work, my husband is the boss and the "big boss" even takes orders from my husband, but the son is having a problem with it, so should be interesting to say the least. Once the son is supposedly trained, then my husband can quit traveling and will move on to something else in this company. My husband quite honestly thinks that the "big boss" wants the son out of his hair and this is why he wants him to take over the foreman job and travel so my husband and the "big boss" can do other jobs.

    Re: Talk about your troubles

I'm sure others have much bigger troubles than I do and I am grateful to have our health and the health of dogs but...
Starting out to be a bad week. Mike got into an accident at work – a Coca-Cola truck hit him in his work truck. The company knows it wasn’t his fault – how and where he was hit – but he got a ticket anyway and they said they’ll pay it but if he doesn’t fight it in court, it stays on his CDL driver’s license forever! 2nd, my paycheck hasn’t hit my account yet and when I asked work about it yesterday (since it usually hits the day before), Boss checked on it and they said midnight. Well, it’s after 7:00AM here and nothing. I watch my bank account like a hawk so I know when things clear (like groceries and gas) so they were due to hit the account after the deposit hit

Good news somewhat - I went to the gym yesterday! Mike pulled something last week and still hurts so he is taking the week off. I will get to do as much cardio as I want which usually doenst' happen when we go to the gym together....so it is a good thing mixed in with a bad thing! Thanks for listening.

    Re: Talk about your troubles

Sorry about your troubles PGM35 - they do seem to hit all at once. I had my specialist appointment yesterday and nothing new - except that nothing hurt - even the test that did a week ago. His only concern is that it's still swollen so something's going on so he's ordering an MRI. I'm to stay off of it and use a crutch until we know something (but I was walking around this morning without one until I got to school). He wouldn't rule out surgery yet, but said whatever it is it isn't bad. I went online and apparently if I were an athlete I would be getting ultrasound treatment 3 times a day and that is technology that's available to everyone now. So I'll go to CVS after school and see if they have anything like that. Anyone have info on that?
    Count your blessings!

Gut, hope you don't need surgery. Ultrasound treatment is not something you can buy at CVS. The dr. use an ultrasound machine to do the treatments in their office.
I hope the knee is better soon.

PGM, I know how you feel. Everything seems to hit all at once. I hope things get better for you soon.

I took my daughter to the dermatologist last week and he prescribed 3 medications for her cystic acne. I told him that our insurance was picky. Well I went to pick them up and it was $150!!!!!!!!!! She needs it, so I sucked it up and paid for it. But I do have a bone to pick with the derm next time she sees him. He assured me that the medications were on the "approved list" for our insurance.

I strained my rotator cuff during swim season my junior year of college, and that was when I had ultrasound treatment. It lasted about a week or so, they put some gel on the area, and rub a wand in it for five minutes or so. It's painless (for me, it was preceded by five minutes of the most painful "massage" I've ever experienced). If you've ever had an echocardiogram, it's pretty much the same idea (or a sonogram when you are pregnant). Just different frequencies, I think.

I have been in and out of PT for 10 years now. They always use ultra sound on my elbows and my neck. If the frequency is high enough, you may feel a little sensation deep in the muscle but it doesn't hurt. That therapy always helped me out for weeks at a time.

    Re: Talk about your troubles

Gutmutter, you can find ultrasound units for less than $90 including the gel, etc. on some stores linked through Ebay-- also TENS units which I don't know if you could use instead. Those are as low as $69
You already know my thought on PT but the ultrasound did seem to numb the pain at least temporarily ( a few hours)--how much more than the ice wraps, I can't say because they always did both in the same session. . Have you used ice? I've learned that cold makes my pains go away much better than heat, though I'm sure the nature of the pain makes a difference.

myrosiedog: I don't think a per diem is supposed to be a way to save money. Most companies who give a per diem here, expect you to pay up front and them submit your receipts. I'm sure your hubby will be happier when the boss's son is trained and he doesn't have to be with them 24/7. Medications sure are expensive! I would complain to the Dr. for sure since you wanted the prescription to be on an approved list. $150 would buy a lot of Pro-Active Solution!

PGM35: Meowza. That is awful. I hope that Mike doesn't suffer any after effects from the crash like whiplash and such. There should be some way that a traffic charge doesn't stay on his record. I hope your paycheque managed to make it in your account in time. I know how difficult it is to be able to keep a few months salary in your account, just in case of something unplanned. That's what a lot of financial advisors recommend. I'm glad you're still making it to the gym. It's a good way to let go of stress!

Missyboxers: Yeowch...I pulled my rotor cuff and boy that is painful!

Gutmutter: I'm sorry I don't have much to offer with respect to your injury except that I hope you get well soon!! There's gardening to be done this summer!

Hmmm. Troubles, yep still got the same old ones I had before. Think I could sell them on Ebay?!
