I'll try anything once. If it doesn't work, I still haven't lost anything. I hope that does the trick.

    Re: Talk about your troubles

I'm over the fever part but still not getting a good night's rest. I wake up several times a night needing to blow my nose but the cough isn't bad at night. The whole feeling like I've been run over by a truck is getting on my nerves now. I hope everyone gets over this soon. It seems to be an epidemic!

Hope everyone is feeling better soon. I took some Airborne and a nap and feel much better. I think mine might be a combination of allergies and the sand storm yesterday. It's rained today, so that has washed away the allergens I think. Some of them anyway. I am feeling much better this afternoon anyway.

The rest of you get better soon.

I actually feel better today than I have in months.

Yea! Glad to hear it gabriel. MRD - I often find if everything is irritated from something else (cleaning) I'm more apt to get sick. I think the inflamed sinuses/lungs are more at risk then. I've never tried Theraflu. I swear by Nyquil when I'm sick. Knocks me right out and I get a whole night's sleep which is what I usually need most. And Ester C. I just took some because I drove down to see my son today with the heater going the whole time and my throat is a little itchy.

Mr buglover picked up generic Nyquil and even though the ingredients are the same, it doesn't work for me at all. Luckily the cough is getting better.

I find some generics work for me and others don't. I can't take generic antacids as they don't work. And some of the generic cold meds don't do it either.

I also have that problem with some generic Rx's as well. I know they are supposed to be the same, but even though they have the same ingredients, they may not have the same amounts of those ingredients or are compounded differently.

    Re: Talk about your troubles

I guess everyone is sick. I've got a cold too. I started taking Airborne as soon as I felt it coming on, so I haven't felt really bad, but I can't quite kick it all the way out, and so I'm not getting much sleep. But, it inspired me to go buy and try a Neti pot. It's not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be, but neither is it as useful -- the snot just comes right back.

    Re: Talk about your troubles

I've thought about the Neti pot too. My grandmother used to put baking soda and water together and use a spoon to pour into her sinuses. She had 2 surgeries to scrape out her sinus cavities because of problems but they did absolutely nothing for her other than irritate her. Today is a much better day as far as the way I feel but now it's cold and raining outside so I don't feel like doing anything!
