Talk about your troubles

Just wanted to give a brief update on my friend Sean, who had the inoperable brain tumor. He has been fighting and gone through every regular and alternative treatment that he can find. Today he found out that he has three more brain tumors, on top of the one he already has.

So if you all could keep him and his family in your prayers I would appreciate it.

My stomach is still giving me horrible problems and now I'm being sent to a specialist (again) and they can't see me until Nov. 12. Last night I slept a total of 3 hours because of the tummy pain. In the meantime the meds they give me for pain are about as effective as butter is for burns. I have the heating pad plastered to my stomach.

I'm so over this. I want to feel better. I have been having these stupid problems and strange illnesses and crap for several years. I want to feel better permanently. Or at least for longer than a few days at a time. Seems like they get one thing fixed and another problem crops up. I'm like an old fixer upper house. You solve a major structural problem and a plumbing problem crops up immediately afterward.

Gee, mrd ... too bad we can't call Ty Pennington and his crew, huh ? ... But then, they enjoy the demolition part of it way too much.
Really do hope you are feeling better soon.

JLuvs Such very sad news about your friend Sean ... but one piece of good news is you have each other and your friendship. Sometimes it's hard to see these little gifts to be treasured ... and the bright spots of hope. Take care assured that thoughts and prayers are here to land on.

Thanks everyone. Well just like an old fixer upper, I don't think I can put it on the market and get a new one. Besides the real estate market is depressed right now.
I need new siding, the roof leaks, the plumbing's shot and even the electrical stuff is acting up.

But I can throw on a coat of new paint (makeup) and it looks good, just don't examine the closets too closely.

JLuvs, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. He and his family and you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I HAD to be somewhere today. Dressed, not in my usual baggy sweats or pj's and half way through, my stomach really started bothering me. I was so glad when I could get through and get to my car and unbutton my pants (TMI, I'm sure-but it just seems like when the pain hits, I can't stand to have anything even remotely tight on and these were not my "tight" pants. )
I need a really long extension cord or a battery operated heating pad as the heat seems to be the only thing that really helps the pain as the meds aren't doing much.

And all the way home, I kept hoping that I wouldn't get pulled over and have to explain to the cop why my pants were undone.

I went the bland diet route for almost 10 days and it did nothing but mess up my blood sugar. I've been keeping a food journal trying to see what is setting it off, but can't figure out anything as it seems that everything and nothing set it off. I have given up spicy food, coffee, caffiene, alcohol and chocolate and all dairy except the activia yogurt as those are the worst "trigger foods" according to the dr. I would almost kill for a good cup of coffee right now. But so far, nada.

What was explained to me is that with IBS its the nerves in the colon become extremely sensitive. I've been on somethine called UltraInflamX which is a "medical food" that has helped in the past, but it hasn't helped at all this time around. I'm in a pretty good flareup that just won't go away. Usually I have a flare, drink the UltrainflamX for a week and then its gone for months, but this time around, they just don't know why the flare isn't going away. And I've never had pain like I'm having. They've done several tests and the colon looks "fine", which is why they say its IBS because there is nothing else showing up at all.
