JD - sooo sorry to hear about your troubles. I don't know where you live, but legally, I don't think a father can kick his children out of their home. No, I am not an attorney, but my brother went through something similar last year. Half the family was telling him to take the kids and run, and the other half was telling him to kick the nutjob wife to the curb. His attorney told him to stay in the house with the kids, that they were entitled to at least that much. I will continue to hold your family in my prayers.
Does she have an attorney? I was told not to leave. Here goes the next chapter of my saga... those of you following along know I have surgery tomorrow for breast cancer. I had an MRI that showed two "somethings" and a follow-up ultra-sound showed one to be a lymph node and the other wasn't there at all. They looked and looked and found nothing, so I didn't end up having any biopsies. Well, today I got a call from my oncologist's nurse. The person who read the MRI is standing by his belief that the one right near the cancer is cause for concern. So the nurse gave me 3 options... 1. Have an MRI guided biopsy in about 3 weeks and then reschedule surgery after that. 2. Have a complete mastectomy to get rid of all doubt. 3. Go ahead with surgery tomorrow and have an MRI guided biopsy of the other site in about a month at the risk of having to have another surgery. I chose door #3. So I go in tomorrow at 7a.m. for the lymph node biopsy and surgery is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. (to give them time to biopsy the node). So I won't be getting back until late.
Gutmutter you will be in my thoughts. Hopes for the best outcome for you.
Gut, I will keep you in my prayers. I will say an extra one tonight and in the morning. Good luck and keep us posted.
Gut, add me to the list of concerned friends who will be thinking about you. Please keep us informed. :grouphug
:cheek Ok Gut - the prayer chain is gonna keep on growing. You and your children will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you all. When they couldn't find the thing at the ultra sound appointment, I thought I was all clear. It was a little aggravating to have to decide the day before surgery - hmmm, do I want them to lob off a breast tomorrow? Wait until summer vacation is half over to get started? Go ahead and roll the dice? I was mentally, physically, and emotionally prepared to get on with it tomorrow. I just hope that the follow up biopsy shows it was a false alarm. I will have to ask what else would give the results the MRI specialist is concerned about.
Oh wow JD I'm sorry to hear about this. My attorney would have told me to stay put but on the other hand, I know how upsetting ex spouses can be. Short term she'll be in for a rough time but I'm sure long term she will be better off.
My problem is still the car. Turns out the engine and the undercarriage are super damaged. So the car is getting totalled. The insurance company is offering me about $1,200 less then what I thought they would on the car which puts my part of the outstanding car loan at about $3,000. I'm preparing to agrue with them on some points (that the two little spots of rust on my hood that were there when I bought the car knock the price down $600 is the main one) and I have some time with the rental still due to the holiday weekend and they have to contact my finance company. The HR deptmartment is still bothering me about the laptop but there I have my supervisor who is spitting mad about the whole thing arguing with them.
I'm due a 401K payment from the divorce but when I discussed it with my ex, he stated he has not seen any of the paperwork but would check into it.
Oh well, I'm going home to see my mommy tommorrow. So everything will be better.
Gutmutter, I'm saying my prayers, too!!! Please let us know what's up and please let me know if you need anything at all.
