We had friends that when they had teenagers, they nailed a sleighbell harness to the back of the door. There was NO way you could open or shut that door without rattling those bells and making a HUGE racket. :)

Fence update. Second fence crew arrived on Friday. Put on vinyl on posts, hand dug the danger zone for the final post and tapped in by hand. Erected sections of vinyl fence throughout main backyard. Put up fencing where gate is to go. Did not bring gate. Did not bring caps that go on the top of the posts. This should be done by Wednesday.
Ooooo. It is beginning to look fabulous! It changes the entire feeling of my back yard.
Kitties are not happy. They do not have their "windows" between the boards to look out of to peruse the alley of visitors, watch the raspberries grow, or view vehicular or pedestrian traffic. I, on the other hand, am jumping in delight of the absence of such views. :)
ClosetNerd: Love the red walls. Agree a blue wall or black wall may add to the oriental feel of the room. Can't help you with the creaky floors. That's not an easy fix.
Glad you are finally getting "re-fenced" Miss Kitty
It's so hot out, the workmen next door went home! :) It's actually kinda quiet out. WOO HOO!
Time for some before and after photos of my fence project.

This is the first time in 15 years that I have felt any sense of privacy in the back yard. No more do I have people looking in, and no more do I look through and see garbage cans, trash, and wanderers. And I'm not scared that the kitties will slip thrugh the fenceboards or some other animal will slip through to scare them. It feels simply amazing. I can hardly wait until next year when I have new neighbors and we can agree to work on the side fences. :yay
Looks really nice, misskitty!
That's a nice fence, MissKitty.
And the Gold Medal in Fencing goes to . . .
misskitty!! :fence
:rofl Newf
Miss Kitty gets the Gold for Canada in fencing!!! :D
Great looking fence Miss K. I'm jealous, as that's the kind of fence I've always wanted for the doggies and me.
That's a beautiful fence and gate, Miss Kitty! I wish I could put up something similar around my apartment balcony -- with soundproofing -- that would let in the air (we get nice ocean breezes) but block out the idiot kids (who can't seem to set foot in the pool without screaming at a pitch and level that could shatter steel! And the privacy/shade would be nice, too.
