You know, small beds equal more togetherness!

MissKitty, I hope the rest of the fencing job gets done with minimal headaches!

In our house, small beds mean not enough room to sleep. We used to have a double and I don't know how we managed it, because now if we have to stay in a hotel and it's only a double, neither one of us sleep well as we apparantly keep kicking the other.

    Re: Home improvement hell

Quick Opinions please! We have tonight and tomorrow night to paint the rest of our livingroom before the installers come to put in our pellet stove next week. We already have a red accent wall, and crazy as it seems, I am thinking of going with green on green stripes for the other side!

Mind you, ignore the garbage and the toys and the crap on the shelf.
The whole livingroom is a work in progress.
I just want opinions on the walls.

    Love it?
    Hate it?
Like it and admire anyone brave enough to do it, but you aren't one of them?

    Thanks

Love the red wall, generally love your room, but really don't like a red/green combo. To me it just says Christmas. Also, I really don't care much for a warm/cool combo. My feeling is that all walls in the room should be of the same tone, either cool or warm. Also, the green has a bit of a retro feel to it, while the red has a more exotic feel. I like both themes, but to me they don't belong together. I can't think of a good complementary colour at the moment (still sick, head still thumping in agony), but someone at the paint store should have a good idea.

Of course, if you do decide to go with that combo, I never said a word .

I like the green on green! I'm a big fan of stripes.

I like the red; what about a warm deep yellow for the other wall?

I like the red (I have two rooms that are red--different shades of red). I like the stripes. But I don't think they go that well together in one room. BTW, I see no mess that you're talking about in that room! It looks very pretty and uncluttered, to me!

Thanks for the comments everyone we shall weigh them.

Lucy, you can't see it because it's "off screen" but half of the green wall is Warm yellow/gold/bronze and it just isn't working at all. We might end up going with the green just because the overwhelming response that I've gotten in my email has been pro green. You can't tell in the photo but there isn't much of a warm cool contrast because the "greens" are really more like guilded olives. They're warm greens if that makes sense. Oh well. It'll probably wind up brown in a year anyway. I'm fickle like that!

I have a red/green combo in one room and it actually works well. Doesn't really look too Christmasy until Christmas.

Love your room by the way. It's gorgeous.

I'll be curious to hear how well the pellet stove works. We just saw one of those and thought it looked pretty neat.

I'll keep you updated about it. If it works as well as they say, it should be saving us about 3 to 4 thousand dollars a year in heating cost! Which we will totally need due to all of our other home improvement hell issues!
