Rattus, that bottom one reminds me of the hotel we saw in Victoria, BC. I can't remember the name, but loved the gothic architecture.

That is our Parliament building (our equivalent to the White House), to which the Parliamentary library in the second shot is attached. One of the reasons I was so happy about this shot (apart from the fact that I love gothic architecture) is that I used the zoom on my new camera from two blocks away, and the picture looks like I was standing right next to the building.

We've just returned from California. We were there for Mr. Doxie's brother's wedding. We escaped the family for a few hours one afternoon and went to Santa Cruz. Our entire trip was a lot of fun!

1. Mr. Doxie and I at the Crow's Nest bar in Santa Cruz. Good food, good views!

2. Here I am checking out the left coast through a telescope on the Crow's Nest bar deck.

3. Yum!

5. Lighthouse across the water from the restaurant.

I was just there last August! My cousins and I went on the ferris wheel at night, so we couldn't really see anything. But there was no line at all (whereas in the middle of the day, the line is huge), so we just had to go on it

Here are a few more pictures from our California adventure/wedding visit.

1. A bird that tried to attack Mr. Doxie on a pier.

2. Darling baby sea lions swimming in Santa Cruz.

3. Boats on the beach in Santa Cruz.

5. The wedding was in Los Gatos. We stayed at the same hotel where Marilyn Monroe and Joe Dimaggio spent their wedding night. Here is a pic of me outside "their" room. Our room was right next door.

I love pelicans, they always look like they should be falling over because their beaks are so big.
