Well, Marleybone, you know the kitty just wants to keep everyone else away from you! It wasn't a problem, didn't even make more laundry for me as Smudge was good enough to do it on used clothes!
And by the way, where are those road trip pictures. We want to see!

Queenb I am so envious. What a great vacation and great pictures, thanks for sharing so much.
I have always wanted to do that kind of trip and espcecially Boston and the revoluntionary war stuff. Being a history Buff, I have exhausted all the Civil War landmarks in the South and now need to either move on to PN and Gettysburg or get started on the Revolution.

It looked like you had a fabulous time.

We are hoping to get to Williamsburg (again for me, first time for my daughter) and DC next summer (well she's been there before, but doesn't know it. I found out I was pregnant with her while in DC for vacation)

You did not bore us. Post more pics. And how neat to meet Gutmutter and get to see Pom and find out that John has been AROUND!!!!!

Thanks for checking under his tail.
Muduh, the tag under his tail says, E & J Classic (HK) Ltd. I'm sorry it took me a while to get back to you on that.

I did some searching on the Internet for more info but I couldn't find any, unfortunately. I did a "Google" search for "German Shepherd gifts" and found a ton of results, so I'm sure that even if my little stuffed toy can't be found you'll still have luck getting something nice for those kids.

Here are the Google results for you:

I can't wait to meet you either, mare!!! I'll send you a PM to discuss this further. I would love to take an Acela train to your neck of the woods; I've been hoping to do that ever since I returned to Boston. I love trains and I've always dreamed of riding that classy machine out your way. I don't care that it's more expensive than a regular Amtrak train. I just want to do it, and I'd love to meet you, too. We'll talk.

I have to tell you guys what I found out about queenb while she was here: she's extremely artistic and talented!!! She can sketch like a pro and she sure does know her cameras. She gave me great advice on what to buy 'cause I'm in the market for a true digital camera (something more camera-like than my camera cell phone). queenb takes gorgeous photos and she shared a lot of info with me that was really helpful.

The leaves here in Massachusetts aren't nearly as colorful yet as those leaves that queenie found up north, hepcat, but when our leaves get pretty I will capture some of those images and post 'em in here somewhere. The fall is gorgeous, and there are some lakes in the area that look spectacular when the trees on the shore turn color in the fall.

I will pop in this thread again in the very near future to tell some stories of that great visit with The Queen because it truly was a blast. The time flew by, we laughed a lot, the animals adored her, and all of my friends and family who met her thought she was great, too.

Every single resident of The Doghouse misses queenie and we hope she'll come back agian some day.

Awww, you guys...! Thanks for the compliments.
Actually, after seeing those few maples that had turned red, I'm thinking I'll have to check out New Hampshire in peak season sometime. We get good color here, but the trees are different, not so many reds, more yellow/gold, and smaller red trees. It looks like a good year for color, though. Trees in GA are just starting to turn now and they look as if they will have a better year than the past couple.

I just got back from a trip to Lake Tahoe. We stayed at Harvey's Casino which is right next to Harrah's casino.

Now as anyone can tell by my screenname I am from the South and us folks here in Alabama don't get snow like alot of my other fellow FORTers around the U.S. Needless to say, this chick from Alabama was quite in awe of the snow that was there! If Alabama had snow like that they would shut down for weeks but it was so funny because the people in Tahoe acted like it was nothing and went about their business!

This was a view from my hotel window when the sun was starting to come up.

My first night there I was walking around outside the hotel while everyone else was gambling and I took this picture of the streetlights illuminating the trees covered with snow!

We went on a snowmobile ride (1st one for me!) and this was one of our views when we stopped to admire the beauty around us. It was all absolutely breathtaking to me!

Another view from the snowmobile ride.

I'm a big girl anyway (not as big as I look in this picture ) but there is absolutely NO WAY to even remotely look skinny or sexy in one of those ski suits and face masks!!! But boy it sure did come in handy against that cold air!

    A few more pictures:

Tidbit of information about Lake Tahoe

We rode a gondola ride to the top of the mountain in a little town called Heavenly (it really was!). This was one of the views of the mountains.

This was a view of Lake Tahoe.

One of the things we thought was so funny was once we got to the top of the mountain where people were skiing, people were sitting out at picnic tables eating hotdogs and hamburgers like they were at the beach. Its freezing cold outside and there's all this snow yet they sit at picnic tables like it was nothing! To someone whose not around snow alot, we thought this looked hilarious!!

That's actually clouds rather than snow. It looks like the clouds are just laying on the mountaintops!

Oops, was I supposed to get you info on Tahoe, bbnbama? I remember telling someone on Fort I'd talk to my best friend who goes there every year, but I completely forgot. Sorry. Anyway it sounds like you had a fabulous time and your pictures are absolutely stunning. I live in So. Cal. where two inches of rain puts everyone in a tizzy, so I loved seeing people picnicking in the snow, too. I've been there several times in the summer, but only once in January, and that was a very long time ago. I forgot how beautiful it is there -- thanks for sharing.
