Peeve: the use of the word "hot", ala Paris Hilton. I get so sick of "He's hot," "That's hot." Everything has become "hot"........and tired. I know our vocabularies can be better than that.![]()

Lois, I'm with you! Maybe that's why I'm so grouchy about the word "hot".

I hate all the supposedly cool misspellings-- you know using "z" instead of 's' and so forth. I could understand why you would shorten a word (but still don't like it) for a note, text message if you use such things, or whatever, but the other crazy spellings are just stupid looking to me; you're putting that much effort into trying to look cool?
I have found the Truth and it doesn't make sense.
Well, it was pretty "kool" here today. No longer "hawt"![]()
What does "Oh Snap" mean? I honestly haven't heard that one.

It's "kool" there today? Excellent, that means it will be "kool" here in a couple of days. Yeeehaaa!
The only person, real or not, I've heard saying "oh snap" is Joy, Earl's wife on My Name is Earl. It seems to be some sort exclamation to be used when something less than pleasant happens to another person and since I thought it was kind of trashy when the character said it, I'm pretty sure I'd think it was trashy if I heard someone saying it in real life.
All I wanted was a 45, a stinking 45 - the record or the gun. I'd even settle for the damn malt liquor. - Al Bundy.
