I DETEST that phrase. I cannot express strongly enough just exactly how I hate this phrase. Hearing it makes my blood pressure rise considerably.
And I have a friend that uses because her pre-teen sons do. She said it to me once and I said: I hope you mean I'm sorry because you sound like an uneducated idiot who isn't at all sorry for what you did when you say that. She was dumbfounded, but now says I'm sorry in my presence. Yeah, I'm a witch with a b at times. I just have a thing about talking properly.
I also hate: "I seen that" or "when he done that, I was amazed!". ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHH
I have been known to say to a teenage boy that bumped into me and then said: "my bad". "THE WORD IS I'M SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
