Clark's are my second love, after Crocs, but I just can't wear them any more. The cork soled sandals I mentioned upthread are Clark's - very attractive, generally very comfortable, but I've found that anything with less shock absorption than Crocs (and that includes running shoes) aggravates my joints beyond belief.

Add me in as a Crocs lover. I can't wear them to work, and I know they're ugly, but they're just SO comfortable. My mother had refused to buy a pair based on looks. Then we went on vacation to Alaska two weeks ago. We visited a glacier where the path was washed out a bit and we had to wade through glacial runoff (so cold!) several times to get there. Mom and my sister kept having to take off their tennis shoes; I waded right through in the crocs. After a few times Mom made me start throwing the Crocs back across the stream to her so she could wear them (the rocks were hurting her feet). Add that to the fact that I threw them in the shower one night to wash them, and I think I have her convinced to at least get a pair of the Mary Jane style.

I'm more comfy in flip flops then anything else. I can't go beyond crocs being ugly.

I love flip flops, but for going any distance or for being on my feet for an extended period of time, Crocs cannot be beat.

Summer is heaven for me. No socks, no shoes that require socks, and bare feet all the time!

I was astounded that jellies are back. I was at Dillard's over the weekend, and they had tons of them, even bedazzled ones. Talk about ridiculous trends from 20+ years ago coming back around.

PhoneG, are you talking about the shoes? I remember wearing those as a child and hating them because they would cut into your skin. But I'm amazed at how much came back from when I was 7-8. I actually think it's quite cute.

I saw bedazzled Crocs in Wal-Mart yesterday. I had to hurry my girls past the display - they're at the age where anything that glitters is a good thing.

Ajane it is like a fishing lure! Glitter, furry, feathers, sequins, lights up, smells like a fruit from some sweet tart forest? They get zombie swirly eyes and I swear their arms shoot out in front of them and they do a frankenstein march toward the item that is all bright and twirly and all reason goes out the window of how much it costs and I have been saving my money for just this exact item!
Oh really?!! Because I recall you wanting to to have money in your camp canteen account this year!!!!

I will never give up my Crocs. I also used to think they were too ugly until one day at work I tried someone's on. I was struck by how cute the bright orange ones looked with her navy blue scrubs. Once I tried them on I was hooked and I've been wearing them to work for 2 years now. Sometimes I work really long shifts but my feet are always happy.

I saw baby Crocs at a friend's place, they were incredibly cute. And, since they were for a baby, the weighed absolutely nothing. I know that adult Crocs don't weigh much as well, but these were small.

While I do think they're rather ugly, I would consider wearing them if I had a job "on my feet". My work shoes (should I get a job soon) now are orthopedic shoes, custom made for my feet. They're rather comfortable as well, but I guess they won't be around forever. So maybe Crocs (or a pirate knock-off) lies in my future, even though I don't like their appearance that much.
