    Tournament of Roses Parade

Did anyone watch this this morning? I'm kind of sick, so I relaxed on the couch and watched it. Not bad. Except I had to switch off CBS because I couldn't stand their commentators, and ended up on NBC where Al Roker was handily winning the award for most plentiful and stupidest puns.

I had to watch part of it as it was running on CBS, NBC and ABC for awhile...why I don't know.
It was ok, I had the sound turned waaaay down.

I tuned in only for a lil while John. Take your Vitamin C's. I too am recovering from an awful cold/flu combo and the only thing that I'm looking forward to watching today is the SC/Iowa game @ 5pm.

I watched a bit of it, but don't generally like that kind of thing.
I think it was on for about five minutes before we decided to abandon it and bounce around on the inflatable castle for a while

John, you should tune in to Fox. The Cotton Bowl has been great.

And the Oklahoma/Washington State game this afternoon (5 pm ET) should be good too!

I just can't do college football. I've tried, really. And my wife wouldn't want me to pick up a Saturday obsession to go along with my Sunday obsession.

My Saturday obsession is already golf...

The only way to watch the Tournament of Roses Parade on TV is KTLA Channel 5 in Los Angeles; one of the few things I miss about living in Southern Cal. Commercial free and the best camera positions. ABC's was hopeless today - the sun glare was horrific. And the commentators on the other stations are terrible.

Another fun way to watch the parade on TV in LA is to watch the KTLA feed, but listen to Frasier Smith on the radio as he "simulcasts" the parade. He totally makes up stuff as he goes, and I always found that funny.

I'd like to attend the parade in person one day. I worked on the Cal Poly float one year back in the 90's. It is amazing to see how much work goes into all the floats, and seeing them on TV just doesn't do them justice.

I agree with Wayner. If I could be there in person I'm sure it would be magnificent (same for Macy's parade).

But watching it on television is a complete bore, imo.

I watched it a bit. First time I'd viewed it in many, many years. Pleased to see that Bob Eubank still appears to be alive, I think.
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey
