    Sorry to hear so many of you were down for the count over the holidays. I came down with a nasty flu the Saturday before Christmas, but managed to go to the neighbors' house (away from my wife and baby daughter that had just arrived home from the hospital) and sleep for about 18 hours. When I woke up I felt infinitely better, and by the time Christmas rolled around I was in the pink. MAJOR thanks to my wonderful neighbors for the help!

    I heard on my local news last week that there is a stomach virus sweeping across the nation. It is awful and alot of people are coming down with it at once.

    I'm not sure what mine is. It came on pretty sudden yesterday around 4pm, and got steadily worse as the night went on. I barely slept last night because I couldn't swallow, and today I feel like my head's in a cave. My throat started to get a little better around 2pm, but now it's back with a vengeance.

    I actually managed to force down a decent dinner, but lunch was chicken bullion and a couple of soda crackers. I haven't even had a Pepsi today (all water), but I did drink 2 cups of coffee this morning.

    Well, I have to pop in once in a while, and let my wife have some peace and quiet

    We had a digital thermometer, but it's broken, and stupid us never bothered to have an old-fashioned mercury kind. So I have no idea if I'm running a fever or not.

    John, have you ever had strep throat? If you have, then you'll know if you ever get it again. If you haven't had it before, then let me tell ya, it does NOT go away on it's own. You have to go to the dr. & get antibiotics in order for it to go away. Until you do, it just gets progressively worse & it hurts really bad to swallow, & you usually have a stiff/sore neck with it, as well as a headache (but headaches seem to come with most illnesses anyway), & you will run a fever. Anyway, just thought I'd give you my input, as I have had strep throat too many times to count! It sucks.

    BTW, I have been the only person in my office to avoid getting sick so far ~ knock on wood! I don't know how long that'll last though!
