When do you take down your Christmas tree?

The tradition in the UK, is that it must be down before 12th night.

Do you have a specific date when you take the tree down?

Depends on how lazy I am. I think it was up until March last year.

We took ours down over the weekend, just in case I have to travel on short notice. That, and we wanted the space freed up.

But sometimes we leave it up for a couple of weeks, but never too long.

We usually take ours down on the first or second. This is our first year with a fake tree, so I'm not really sure when we will do it. No needles falling off etc to get my butt in gear.
Maybe I'll leave it up all year!

Ours stays up until "Little Christmas" January 6th.

I do take the other decorations in the house down before December 31st as we have birthdays on Jan 1st.

My parents always kept ours up until Epiphany, but having not been to church in forever I have no idea when that even is.

i never have heard of the january 6th rule. details please? why is this a significant day?

i will probably take my tree down over the weekend (jan 4th) unless i can be convinced that jan 6th is the "proper" day to do so.

Well,, mine is real,, and it was definately a fire hazzard so its now sitting on the back deck getting watered by my dog kipper,, poor treee,, had to go!
